Neocon 2018 Recap
Unless you’re in the furniture world, you’re probably asking yourself “Neo-what?”. Neocon is the largest event of the year for us. It’s a breeding ground for innovation, creativity, education and new products. 2018 marked the 50th year of NeoCon and just like other years it did not disappoint. There was lots of focus on the rich history that NeoCon provides the furniture industry, not to mention plenty of fun.
Haworth’s showroom was impressive as always; designed once again by the famed designer Patricia Urquiola. While it was filled with amazing products from across the Haworth portfolio, there were a few featured products, some of which are already receiving high acclaim.
The newly launched Maari guest chair and the Soji task chair both received honorable mentions in their respective categories from the highly-regarded HiP Awards presented by Interior Design magazine. We detailed the Soji a few weeks ago, but the Maari is a brand new chair, designed by Urquiola herself. Design to bring balance to the workplace, Maari brings with it warmth and comfort.
Haworth also launched Bandas Space by GAN, designed by Particia Urquiloa. These unique pieces actually were chosen by Metropolis Magazine as one of the 7 Themes from Neocon That Highlight New Directions in Commercial Design. Metropolis highlighted the use of color fields in Bandas Space using the geometric prints from Urquiloa’s Bandas rugs.
The newly renovated AIS showroom also offered attendees some great new products to check out. AIS launched the Calibrate Series, Day-To-Day Tables, Rutland stool, and Sulli perch seating. Calibrate Conferencing Series are built for meeting rooms. Both functional and filled with options these include more than 15 Grade A laminate top choices. Day-to-Day tables provide the mobility you need with the quality you expect, and are available in flip-top/nesting, height adjustable, and fixed. The dynamic Sulli provides a pop of color and a whole lot of fun to any environment at a price-point that many customers can appreciate.
