Better Lighting in Three Easy Steps

Most people spend more time at their office than they do at home.  So much so that many organizations are incorporating a residential feel into their design to increase comfort and productivity.  Luckily there are many ways to make your environment more like home; one of which includes accent lighting. Traditionally, offices are filled with dim, overhead fluorescent lights that leave little to the imagination – let alone spark creativity. Importing a variety of light sources not only create a vibrate design but can also increase productivity and reduce fatigue.  Lighting creates warmth, color and ambiance for the user. This week I’ve complied some of my favorite new lighting offerings that not only bring a high-design, residential feel but that can also stand up to the wear and tear of a traditional office.

The exposure to good lighting from both the interior of the space and exposure to natural daylight can impact your employee’s decision-making abilities, focus and productivity.  Proper lighting is considered one of the most important aspects of your space.  Most employees like to have some control over their space, and accent fixtures offer them that option.  The pedant lights they can dim.  The desk lights and floor lamps can dim or turned off depending on the task at hand.  All the lights featured on this article are part of Haworth’s growing interior environments collection.
