1976 - 2003

On August 26, 1976, Billie Jo Wanink founded Interior Systems Contract Group Incorporated, iscg, in Detroit Michigan, with a staff of two, offices of 500 square feet, and an investment of $5,000.00.

The company began representing Haworth as a systems furniture dealer in 1979 and by 1986 was experiencing annual sales growth in excess of 30%. That same year Louise Tucker, who joined the company in 1978, became Billie's Partner.

iscg's recognition as one of Michigan's premier workplace furnishings companies grew dramatically throughout the 80s and in 1988 they were included in Crain's Detroit Business as one of the "Top 25 Woman Owned Businesses in Michigan". iscg has remained listed every year since!

The company moved its headquarters, doubling its size, to Royal Oak Michigan in 1991 and in 1993 Billie was selected "Woman Business Owner of the Year" by the National Association of Woman Business Owners. In 1996 she received the Spirit of Detroit Award and in 1997 was named one of "Detroit's 100 Most Influential Women" by Crain's Detroit Business.

In February 1998 iscg was listed in Working Woman magazine's first survey of the "Top 500 Women Owned Companies in America". Another highlight was receiving Detroit's "Today's Workplace of Tomorrow" Award. Recognition continued in 2000 and 2001 with the "Top 10 Best Places to Work" in Southeast Michigan and the "The 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in Michigan" awards.

In 2001 iscg hit record sales and by the 2003 year end will complete a major expansion and renovation of its Royal Oak Headquarters totaling over 11,000 square feet.

Founder and CEO, Billie Jo Wanink, announced an ownership change in September of 2003. Long time Partner Louise Tucker, President, is retiring and was replaced by Bob Martin, now an owner. Bob joined iscg in 2001 and was Vice President. Billie herself stepped down and Mary Ann Lievois became CEO. Mary Ann joined iscg in 1996 and was Vice President. Mary Ann's new ownership ensures the company's Woman Owned status.

Today iscg offers a large selection of 'Constructive Solutions' and 'Smart Building Design' for the workplace. From floor coverings or raised flooring solutions to movable interior walls, their myriad services include corporate facility assessment, move/asset/facilities and project management, furnishings procurement, furnishings reconditioning and maintenance, receiving and warehousing, inventory control, delivery and installation.
